Privacy Policy
TradingPrimer is a free educational site. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not build profiles of readers. This page describes exactly what the site collects and why — written from the site's actual code, not from a template.
What you can read without giving us anything
Every lesson, tool, glossary entry and market brief on this site is readable with no account, no sign-up and no email address. Nothing here is gated.
What is stored in your own browser
These stay on your device. They never reach our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them permanently:
· your light/dark theme choice
· your reading progress through the curriculum, and the "continue reading" position in an article
· entries you type into the trading journal and the pre-trade checklist tools
· when the exchange notice was last shown, so it is not repeated at you
The trading journal is a local tool. Your trade notes are not uploaded to us and we cannot read them.
Analytics
We measure which pages get read, so we know what to write next. Two tools:
· Google Analytics 4 (property G-XJ0JSQ53HT) — uses cookies and is subject to Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or any standard content blocker.
· Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-first: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.
If you request the free Starter Kit
The kit form asks for an email address and nothing else. The submission is delivered to us by FormSubmit, a third-party form relay, and arrives in our inbox. We use that address to send you the kit and occasional notes about new lessons. We do not sell or rent it. Reply to any message asking to be removed and the address is deleted.
Exchange referral links
Links marked as referral links send you to an exchange with a referral code attached. The exchange knows you arrived from us; we do not receive your name, email or account details from them — only aggregate commission reporting. See the affiliate disclosure for how this affects our editorial choices (short version: it does not).
Other third parties
· Google Translate — the page-translation widget loads only if you click the 🌐 button. Until you do, no request is made to Google Translate.
· Google Sign-In — offered only inside the trading journal tool, if you choose to protect your local entries. Declining it limits nothing else on the site.
· Cloudflare Pages hosts the site and processes request logs as part of serving it.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the UK, or a jurisdiction with comparable rules, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the only personal data we hold about you — your email address, if you gave us one. Write to us and we will action it.
