Exchange fee calculator — Binance, OKX and Bybit at your size and frequency

Type a position size and how many round trips you make a month. The page turns the percentage on each fee schedule into dollars per trade, per month and per year on all three venues — and shows what switching from market orders to limit orders would save, which is usually the bigger number.

Every number above is computed in your browser from what you typed; nothing is stored or sent. Commission only — spread, slippage and funding are separate and usually larger. Educational content, not advice.

Regular-tier rates read from each venue’s own pages on 4 Sep 2026. Volume tiers lower them; your own fee page inside the account is the only number that applies to you.

Commission is the small, visible half. The other half is the difference between the price you clicked and the price you got. The slippage calculator reads a live order book and measures it for your size — run the same $10,000 through it and compare.

What the calculator is doing

A fee schedule quotes a percentage of the trade’s value; you pay it twice, once entering and once exiting. The page multiplies your size by the entry rate and the exit rate for the order style you chose, adds them, and scales by your monthly frequency. For perpetuals it uses each venue’s USDT-margined rate; for spot, the crypto-to-crypto rate. All three venues charge the same way, so the comparison is like for like.

The rates are the ones a new account pays: Binance’s Regular User tier, OKX’s Lv1, Bybit’s VIP 0. Every venue lowers them with volume, and none of that matters until you are trading millions a month. The BNB toggle applies the discounts Binance publishes for paying fees in BNB; OKX states that holding OKB no longer reduces fees, and Bybit publishes no flat discount, so those have no toggle.

Reading the table

Read the gap between venues first, then the saving from limit orders. At most sizes and frequencies the second is five to six times the first: a $10,000 perpetual round trip is $10 on Binance or OKX and $11 on Bybit with market orders, and $4 on all three with limit orders. The venue is worth a dollar; the order type is worth six. That is not an argument for ignoring the venue — depth, demo accounts, identity rules and availability all matter, and the exchange page covers them. It is an argument for learning to place a limit order before worrying about basis points.

The year column is there because a monthly number feels small. Forty $10,000 market-order round trips a month is $4,800 to $5,280 a year in commission alone, before spread, slippage or funding. Lesson 3 makes the point that this is tuition; the calculator shows the invoice.

Questions people ask

Where do the fee rates come from?

From each exchange’s own fee schedule and help pages, read on 4 Sep 2026: Binance’s futures fee FAQ (updated 1 May 2026) and spot fee FAQ; OKX’s trading fee rules FAQ (updated 3 Sep 2026); Bybit’s trading fee structure (updated 2 Sep 2026). They are regular-tier rates — the ones a new account pays. Sources are linked on each venue’s review.

Why does the order style change the number so much?

Because a maker (limit) order pays 0.02% on perpetuals and a taker (market) order pays 0.05–0.055%. In and out, that is $4 against $10–$11 on $10,000. The gap between placing the order patiently and placing it immediately is larger than the gap between any two of these venues.

Does the calculator include spread and slippage?

No, and they are usually the larger cost. A market order fills at the best available price, which is not the price you saw, and on a thin book it walks through several levels. The slippage calculator reads a live order book and measures that; this page measures only the commission.

Does it include funding on perpetuals?

No. Funding is paid between longs and shorts every few hours and depends on the rate at the time, which changes constantly. The funding rate calculator handles that separately, and OKX’s automatic cycle acceleration is explained in our funding how-to.

What about the BNB discount?

Toggle it on and Binance’s rates drop by 25% on spot and 10% on futures, which is what Binance publishes for fees paid in BNB. Remember that holding BNB to earn the discount is a position in a volatile asset, not a rebate.

Is the cheapest venue here the one I should open?

Not on its own. The venues are a dollar or two apart per $10,000 round trip; order-book depth, the demo account, identity rules and whether the venue serves your country matter more. The exchange matcher asks five questions and picks one; the reviews explain each.

Risk reminder: a calculator shows arithmetic, not the future. Fees change without notice; these were read on 4 Sep 2026. Most retail traders lose money.
