How to read this page without getting hurt
A big green 24h number is history, not an invitation. Entering after the move puts your stop further away for the same idea and shrinks the remaining target — the arithmetic in our FOMO guide. If a coin here interests you, set an alert at the level you would actually want and close the tab.
Dominance is a flow gauge. BTC dominance rising while total cap rises means money is choosing Bitcoin; dominance falling in a rising market is the classic "alt season" pattern — and the classic late-cycle pattern too.
Fear & Greed is a temperature, not a trigger. Extremes have clustered near turning points, but the index can sit at "Extreme Greed" for weeks. Use it to check your own mood against the crowd's, never as an entry.
Volume matters more than rank for you. Your slippage and spread depend on the depth where you trade; a coin ranked 40 with thin volume costs you more per round trip than its rank suggests — see bid-ask spread.

Where does this price data come from? Prices tick in real time over a public exchange WebSocket (Binance spot, Coinbase as fallback) — no account, no key. Ranks, market caps, volumes, 1h/7d changes and the 7-day charts come from CoinGecko's public API and refresh every 60 seconds; the Fear & Greed index from alternative.me. The price you trade at on any one exchange can differ slightly.
Is a coin that is up 20% in 24 hours a buy? No. It tells you where the excitement was. Structure, risk/reward and position size decide a trade, never a percentage on a table.
What does the Fear & Greed index mean? A composite of volatility, volume, social activity, dominance and trends scaled 0–100. Extremes are worth noticing; they are not signals.
