Crypto portfolio tracker — private, live, honest
Type what you hold and, if you like, what you paid. The total ticks with the market, allocation is drawn for you, and the cost-basis P&L is the number the exchange app hides behind a green button. Everything stays in this browser.

Recovery arithmetic from the drawdown calculator: a loss of d needs a gain of d ÷ (1 − d) to get back to even.
Why keep a portfolio tracker outside the exchange app?
Because the exchange app is designed to make you trade, and this page is designed to make you look. It shows the weight of each coin, the cost you actually paid and what a bad week does to the total — three numbers that decide whether you are investing, trading, or gambling without noticing. It pairs with the trading journal: the journal records decisions, this records what they added up to.
What does allocation tell you?
A portfolio that is 80% one coin moves like that coin, whatever else is in it. That is fine if it is a decision; it is a problem if it happened by accident because one position ran. The stacked bar above makes the split visible, and the stress-test card turns it into money: a −30% day in a coin that is 80% of the account is a −24% day for you, which then needs +31.6% to recover.
Why does the total tick?
Prices arrive over the same exchange WebSocket that powers the live prices page and the ticker at the top of the site, so the total updates as trades print. Names, images and the 24-hour change refresh every minute from our market feed. Because the stream connects only while this tab is visible, it costs you nothing in the background.
tpPortfolio). There is no account, no server copy and no way for us to see them. Export a JSON backup before clearing site data. This tracker never asks for an address, API key or seed phrase — anything that does is not a tracker.Questions people ask about the portfolio tracker
Where is my portfolio stored?
In your browser's local storage on this device, under the key tpPortfolio. Nothing is sent to TradingPrimer or anyone else; clearing site data or using another browser starts from an empty list. Use Export to keep a JSON copy.
Where do the prices come from?
Live ticks arrive over a public exchange WebSocket (Binance, with Coinbase as fallback) for coins with a USDT or USD pair; names, images and 24-hour change come from our /api/coins feed (CoinGecko, refreshed every minute). Coins outside the top 50 without a live pair show no price and are left out of the total.
Is this a wallet or an exchange connection?
No. It is a plain list of what you hold and what you paid. It cannot move funds, does not know your addresses and never asks for keys — a tracker that needs your seed phrase is a scam.
What does the concentration note mean?
If one coin is more than half of the portfolio, the tracker shows what a 30% fall in that coin alone does to the whole account. Concentration is not wrong — it is a decision you should be able to state out loud.
How is unrealised P&L calculated?
Only for holdings where you entered an average cost: (live price − average cost) × amount, and the same as a percentage of cost. Fees you paid are not included unless you fold them into the average cost.
Size the next position before you add it here
The position-size calculator turns a stop distance into an amount; this page shows what that amount does to the whole.
