What is Avalanche?
Avalanche is a proof-of-stake layer-1 known for its own consensus family and for “subnets” — application-specific chains that run alongside the main network. AVAX pays fees, is staked by validators and is burned with each transaction.
What to know before trading AVAX
A layer-1 coin trades on the network’s adoption and on the whole market’s risk appetite. Check where it sits against Bitcoin on the heatmap before crediting a move to the coin itself: most altcoin rallies are Bitcoin rallies with extra leverage.
