What is Litecoin?
Litecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, launched in 2011 by Charlie Lee as a lighter fork of Bitcoin with faster blocks and a different mining algorithm (Scrypt). It is widely listed and often used as a low-fee way to move value between exchanges.
What to know before trading LTC
A layer-1 coin trades on the network’s adoption and on the whole market’s risk appetite. Check where it sits against Bitcoin on the heatmap before crediting a move to the coin itself: most altcoin rallies are Bitcoin rallies with extra leverage.
