What is Uniswap?
UNI is the governance token of Uniswap, the largest decentralised exchange on Ethereum, which pioneered the automated-market-maker model (liquidity pools instead of an order book). Holding UNI gives a vote on the protocol; it does not by itself pay out trading fees.
What to know before trading UNI
A DeFi governance token gives a vote, not necessarily a share of revenue. Its price tracks usage of the protocol and the wider appetite for DeFi; read what the token actually entitles you to before treating it like equity.
